Four schools in lockdown after Brampton shooting

A shooting near a Brampton has left four schools in lockdown.

The victim were sent to the hospital. The lockdown happen around 2pm Monday.Police received a call about the sound of gunfire near the Cassie Campbell Community Centre at 10 Earlabridge Blvd.When they arrived, There was a person who was suffering from a bullet wound. They've been sent to hospital for treatment and the hunt is on for those who wielded that weapon.As a result, eight schools have been placed in temporary lockdown, and cops stress the victim in this case is not a student.

These schools are out of limits:

Fletchers Meadow S.S. at 10750 Chinguacousy Rd. and St. Edmund Campion S.S. which is at 275 Brisdale Dr.

These are some school which are safe:

Brisdale P.S. and St. Aidan Catholic School, located at Buck Blvd., Rowntree P.S. and Cheyne Middle School on Queen Mary Drive and McCrimmon Middle School and St. Bonaventure Catholic School, both on McCrimmon Dr.

None of those who attend are in any danger and the point of the lockdowns and other measures is to ensure that any suspects don't try to hide out on those campuses.

There's no immediate word on the extent of the injuries to the victim or what might have sparked this latest round of GTA gun violence. Peel Police have established a perimeter in the area and are hunting at least three people seen running from the scene.
